Serving Our Community with Compassion
Food Bank Support
Our Food Bank Support initiative is dedicated to serving individuals and families facing financial hardship, as well as those experiencing homelessness. We believe no one in our community should have to face hunger alone.
Through generous donations and the dedication of our volunteers, we provide food, essential supplies, and compassionate support to those going through difficult circumstances. Our outreach is rooted in dignity, care, and a commitment to bringing hope where it is needed most.
How we help:
Medway Shelter and Support
Every Sunday afternoon from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, between October and April, our church hall serves as a vital community hub for the Medway Shelter and Support network. We work in accordance with the Monday evening Medway Shelter and Support Drop- In based in Gillingham. We provide a Christ-filled welcoming environment for rough sleepers, those in temporary or supported housing, and individuals navigating challenges with mental health or addiction. Upon arrival at 4:00 PM, guests are greeted with hot tea, coffee, and biscuits, offering a moment of warmth and connection before our main meal service at 5:00 PM.
We take great pride in serving a full, nutritious, hot and delicious Sunday dinner, and dessert—which, for many, is the only cooked meal they receive all week. To ensure this support extends beyond our doors, we also provide takeaway containers so guests can take extra food and pudding with them when they depart. Some of our guests are rough sleepers, people living in temporary hostels, supported accommodation for ex-offenders, mental health, drug and alcohol users; and a few people with needs in private accommodation.
